Pigs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: My hogs are about 150 pounds and our fair is in July. They are on Honor feed. I've been told to put them on hand-fed fitter for the last 3 weeks. I currently use t100 constant feed. Should we use showbloom! if we switch to fitter?

A: It sounds like you're on schedule to have your hogs at the desired weight. If they are doing well and you can check their weights often, you should leave things the way they are. showbloom! will develop even more muscle at the late stage of its feeding. Keep doing what you are doing and top dress with showbloom!.

Q: I have two pigs I'm preparing for our county show in two months. My Hamp is lean and full of muscle. My Cross has excellent muscle everywhere except for his rear. Will showbloom! boost his appearance in that area?

A: showbloom! has proven very effective in developing muscle and mass in livestock. showbloom! has also been proven to increase feed intake because its palatability helps keep animals on feed even during stress. You might consider asking your feed dealer about the benefits of palene, which helps develop muscle. These two products, along with your normal feed program, will develop your pig's muscle in time for your show.

Q: My daughter has experienced great success while feeding showbloom! to her show lamb. We would like to feed it to her pigs, as well. One of the pigs is highly muscled. Would it benefit from showbloom!? How much should we feed?

A: showbloom! will indeed benefit your young pigs. It will aid in developing bone and structure growth. You will also notice that showbloom! helps develop the softer muscle tone that is desired on the show circuit. We recommend starting to feed 2 oz. per head per feeding and working up to 4 oz. per head per feeding.
